B Corps Who Are the Counterbalance to the Current Administration |
| | To date, Donald J. Trump has signed over 70 Executive orders. While it feels like decades of progress is being erased overnight, many companies are still choosing to do the right thing—investing in their workers, protecting the planet, and strengthening their communities. Even in the face of regressive and short-sighted policies under the Trump-Musk administration, Certified B Corps continue to prove that ethical leadership isn’t just possible—it’s profitable, sustainable, and necessary. In this issue, we are highlighting a few of the leaders shaping a better future. From innovative partnerships for diverse talent, support for immigrants and women's health to prioritizing environmental responsibility, these are companies that operate with integrity and endeavor to use business as a force for good. We’ll also share ideas on how to Engage with the B Corp Community including: IGP is proud to work with all of the companies mentioned in this newsletter—Bear Lake Coffee Co., BLISS Health, Chabaso Bakery, Ethos Giving, Good Clean Love, Michael Stars, Publish your Purpose, Red Orange Studio. | | | | | Hopefully, the stories above have inspired you to elevate the B Corp message, engage our communities, and inspire others to join the movement of businesses being a force for good. Here are some ideas on how you can get involved: |
| The recent fires in Los Angeles are a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of climate change inaction. Despite the growing urgency, insufficient progress on climate policies and emission reductions has left communities vulnerable to these extreme events. Recovery is on-going and expected to take months to clean up and years to rebuild. There are B Corps on both sides of the recovery effort. If you are interested in supporting those impacted by the fire, 1% for the Planet and B Local LA have compiled lists of vetted organizations.
Michael Stars uses its Foundation as a way to help others in need. The foundation provided grants of $10k each to three organizations doing important work on the ground to help the Los Angeles community, as it fights the ongoing wildfires and devastating aftermath: the LAFD Foundation, the California Community Foundation, and the Pasadena Community Foundation. Along with the grants, the Michael Stars Foundation has helped nearly 200 Los Angeles residents and counting through individual clothing donations. The foundation supported community donation drives with bulk clothing donations. In total, the Michael Stars foundation donated more than 2,000 new clothing items to those in need.
Emily Kane Miller, founder of Ethos Giving, lost her home in the LA fires. Read her personal account of how events unfolded. If your company is looking for support defining, measuring, or communicating your social purpose, Emily and her team are THE BEST in the business.
