Small Steps for a Plastic Free Lifestyle ♻️

Join Millions of People Reducing Their Plastic Waste

This July, we invite you to join us in reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainable practices.

Launched in 2011, Plastic Free July is a global movement that empowers millions to be part of the solution to plastic pollution, creating cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.

Join millions worldwide in taking small steps to reduce plastic pollution this July. By participating, you and your company can lead by example, inspire others, and make a tangible impact on the planet. Let’s work together to create a cleaner, greener future for all.

Best of all, Plastic Free July doesn't have to end in July; these small habits can continue all year to make a lasting positive impact on our environment.

Ways to Embrace Plastic Free July

For Individuals:

♻️ Reuse what you have. Repurposing what you already have is the best way to reduce plastic waste and our eco footprint. Before buying new, consider taking a look around the house – you might be surprised by what you can repurpose.

♻️ Avoid bottled drinks. Choose reusable bottles for work, the gym, and easy access wherever you go. Carrying a reusable bottle helps reduce plastic waste and saves money.

♻️ Refuse plastic bags. While many stores have done away with these, plastic bags are still thre. Reusable shopping bags have become a staple for many of us, offering a simple and impactful way to cut down on plastic waste.

♻️ Ditch Disposable Cups. From supporting local cafes that encourage you to bring your own cup, to drinking in instead of taking your drink to go, there are simple ways to reduce single-use packaging.

♻️ Avoid pre-packaged produce. Find plastic free alternatives when buying fruit and veggies

♻️ Support Eco-Friendly Businesses. Patronize companies that prioritize sustainable packaging.

For Companies:

♻️ Promote Sustainable Packaging. Implement environmentally friendly packaging solutions.

♻️ Promote Reusables. Encourage using reusable items within the company and among customers. Creating a coffee station with mugs is one idea to do this.

♻️ Collaborate with Environmental Organizations. Partner with advocacy groups for community events and initiatives.

♻️ Educate Employees. Offer workshops, training, and employee challenges to promote sustainability.

Sustainability guides Burton’s every step, and they balance it with performance to continue leading the industry.

Warby Parker Emphasizes Recycling

B Corp Warby Parker has made significant strides to reduce plastics and positively impact the environment. Their eco-friendly packaging initiative ensures that Home Try-On boxes are made from 100% recycled wood pulp and are fully recyclable. In 2021, they saved over 1,500 pounds of plastic by eliminating poly bags from frame kits. Additionally, Warby Parker has developed a demo lens recycling partnership, repurposing acrylic lenses into other materials, further demonstrating their commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Rolling into Sustainable Impact

Reel Paper is a prime example of a company that truly walks the talk in reducing waste. Founded with the goal of eliminating deforestation and plastic pollution caused by single-use paper products, Reel was inspired by the staggering statistic that over 25,000 trees are cut down each day to make toilet paper. They set out to produce premium, sustainable paper goods made in the US that fit seamlessly into people’s lives.

Reel’s mission focuses on two equally important goals: sustainability and giving back. They use innovative, tree-free fibers to create 100% tree-free and plastic-free products while partnering with SOIL to transform waste into valuable resources in Haiti, supporting agriculture, reforestation, and climate change mitigation.

As a Certified B Corp, Reel leads the way towards a more sustainable future.
